About this collection:  

The Opal Series examines the shimmer, sparkle, and fire of the Opal and the depth and color variations that naturally occur within the stone. This series concentrates on exposing multiple layers of paint and color, thus enhancing 3-dimensional textures which reflect and intensify the natural play-of-color process. Similarly, the human mind is a complex and multifaceted thing. It is constantly shifting and changing, with new thoughts and ideas bubbling up to the surface. The opal's play-of-color is a metaphor for the way that our thoughts and emotions can change and evolve over time.
